Hermes Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
This policy describes Brian Tan’s private deployment of Hermes Agent (“Hermes”), operated independently by Brian for his personal work and business workflows. It is not operated by Google or Nous Research, and it is not a service offered to the public.
Information accessed
Hermes may access Google account data through integrations Brian explicitly authorizes. The specific information depends on the integration and the task Brian requests; connected services may include Google Ads, Search Console, Drive, and Gmail.
The Google Ads service-account connection used for keyword research has the Read only role. It retrieves English Google Search keyword demand and advertiser-competition estimates for SEO research across Brian’s five websites. It cannot make campaign or billing changes through that connection. This separate Ads credential grants no access to Gmail or Drive.
How information is used
Connected information is used to carry out Brian’s requested personal and business workflows, including research, analysis, and producing requested work records. Google data is not sold or used for advertising.
Storage and retention
Credentials are stored securely on Brian’s Hermes instance, hosted by Nous Research. Keyword results may be reused from cache for up to seven days. Cached records and selected keyword estimates retained with research may remain until Brian removes them; they are not automatically deleted after seven days. Other work records may be retained as needed for his workflows.
Service providers and sharing
OpenAI processes information when the configured AI service is used to perform a task. Nous Research hosts Brian’s Hermes instance, and Google supplies data through the integrations Brian authorizes. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Information may also be sent to a connected service when needed to complete a task Brian requested. Brian does not sell Google user data or share it for advertising.
Your choices and removal
Brian can remove stored records and credentials from his Hermes instance. Access granted through a Google user account can be revoked in Google Account permissions. Google Ads service-account access can be revoked in the relevant Google Ads account.
